Bevs fundraising success in memory of much loved Keith Williams.
Keith Williams founder of the Burnham And Dengie Hundred Review and Williams Family Photographers sadly and suddenly passed away in June last year after suffering a severe heart attack. Thanks to Beverly O’Connors fundraising know-how, she was able to raise over £960 to go towards the cost of 4 defibrillators which will be placed in accessible areas throughout the town. My family would personally like to thank Bev for her continued efforts in not only getting these vital machines to help others in my dad’s situation but with all the charity work she does throughout our community.

“Time for a Cuppa”
Support An Essex Admiral Nurse (SEAN) with Dementia UK had their first fund raising event with “Time For a Cuppa” at Burnham Town Council offices on March 4th. There were lots of yummy cakes and coffee enjoyed by a steady stream of people. An amazing £300 was raised so thank you to everyone who came and supported this great cause.
SEAN is aiming to raise £50,000 to go towards commissioning Admiral Nurses for Essex as there are currently none working here.
Admiral Nurses are provided by the charity Dementia UK and give one to one support to people living with dementia and their families. They are specialist nurses who are able to give expert advice and help to the whole family during what can be a very stressful time.
Our next fund raising event is starting on March 28th.Dave Mells will be walking around Anglesey, an island of the coast of North Wales. It’s 125 miles and almost 14,000 ft of climbing and he’s aiming to do it in just 10 days. The average is 12 days! You can sponsor Dave via www.justgiving.com/fundraising-Dave-Mells-AngleseyCoastPath

Urgent Appeal from Brenda Manning and Friends– Help Get Lisa Home! We are searching for the true Burnham Spirit for our dearest friend Lisa Aydon. Three years ago Lisa had a terrible accident falling down the stairs. This has been life changing for both her and her family. Lisa was a huge part of our community, working in one of our local schools, and was also part of the rugby club. We want to give her something back for all of her hard work she put in for us. She has now been given the go ahead to come home but needs a wet room in order for this to happen. We are in need a few trades people who are willing to give their time for a community cause. Tilers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters and labourers are needed. If anybody can help bring our lovely lady home, Burnham can. We will also be opening a ‘Just Giving’ page for donations to buy all that is needed to make our Lisa comfortable, which will also enable us to get the work done quicker too! We can share the page once done and would appreciate any sharing around the Dengie area too. Thank you all so much. Your comments are much appreciated.
